This may be a dumb question, but here goes. I have to install the BCM fax Messaging suite tomorrow. In order to see a fax sent to their voicemail box on their PC, is the Callpilot unified Messaging software (on the client PC) neccessary? This customer is very concerned that the unified messaging will tie up bandwidth because their servers are several hundred miles away(which I dont beleieve is true, I think the BCM sends out messages only to the LAN) Any suggestions or alternatives would be appreciated.

Yes, you'll need to have Unified Messaging to make it work.

Bandwidth shouldn't be an issue as the BCM communicates with the client only, not the server. If the client is on the same LAN as the BCM, the Unified Messaging packets/data never leave the LAN.
