I am wondering if it is possible to use a BCM DN as a phone jack for a Fire Alarm system. Instead of having to buy a new phone line, I am hoping to use the existing phone lines already in place in the BCM as a pool of lines for the Fire Alarm monitoring.

I have a limited knowledge of BCM, so I really have no idea if I have to somehow hook up a Norstar phone to alarm or if I can just plug the alarm into the phone jack.

Any tips/advice would be appreciated!

You would need an ATA to convert the digital port to an analog port.

That being said, what if there is a problem with the BCM and the building is on fire? You'd be much better off using a fax line, or one of the analog trunks connected in front of the BCM properly wired to a RJ-31X jack. Most security/fire alarm companies I've dealt with won't allow you to use an extension off the PBX.
