Has anyone noticed Echo problems with the BCM, or perhaps more specifically with the T7316E phones?

We were having tremendous echo problems across our PRI' and Router, but everything we did to combat it has had varying effect.
We have gone through the same problems with our MICS Systems and have ironed it out, but not on the BCM.

We have noticed that Ear volume will vary GREATLY from call to call and side tone will be extremely hot on certain calls.

I don't think it has much to do with our PRI or router because I have also been getting echoes on INTERNAL calls from one station to another on the same BCM.
The echoes are local to the caller and are only heard by the caller, not by the other end. The caller hears his/fer own voice echoing.

As I said, I know how to adjust on the router and PRI, but it never stays stable and I am suspecting it has something to do with either the BCM or the T7316E's due to the station to station echoes.

Anyone hear of anything like this before? Any ideas?

Echo is normally attributed to too much gain.
There is a gain setting on the pri cards in newer software versions.
Hope you are using 3.6 software.
Haven't heard of the problem specifically but I know you can buy a third party handset that clears up the issue a lot.
We have tried replacing the handset with older M series handsets and this cleared up a lot of issues.

Nope. 3.5... 3.6 allows gain adjust on what the PRI or the CSU Build.
Do you have a manufacturer for the handsets?
Or are you saying you put M series handsets on the T series phones?

We are having the exact same issue with local echo, although it's almost always on long distance.

Did you find a solution?

thanks
Mike

We forced the echo down somewhat by changing the default volume settings to be system set versus user set. This drops it down to a lower level than most were using.
We are also routing calls through Cisco Routers so we were able to help kill some of the echo by changing our play out delay settings and also padding adjusting down some of the gain settings in the router.
If you have a long distance provider and they are using special circuitry, you can ask what loss treatment they are using and adjust appropriately.
We chased the echoes down to just one geographical area, called our Provider and asked them to look at the circuit. They padded it down a bit and now we only get echo occasionally.

Does that help?
