We have a 3.6 bcm 400. no voicemail or unified manager working.

When we reboot it, we get 3 beeps, then beep beep and then 2 beeps.

Does this code translate to something? Can't find it on my CDs.

The most likely culprit is your hard drive!

Could be power supply but if the sets are working then it's probably ok.

Last thing would be the Base Function Tray. Have a look at the capacitors on it. If they are bulged, corroded etc, get another one.

you could take the cover off the base function tray and connect monitor to it and see what it is doing on bootup.

If you see a single red led on the front of the BCM and hear no sound, it's likely to be the power unit. It does sound to be the hard disk as stated above.
You could spend a little while cleaning and reseating all the connections and also check to see if the hard disk is spinning OK.

All the best

If it's working, then leave it alone!.

I am guessing power supply also on this one.

thanks. I thought the beeps would translate into some coded information. I am trying to replace the hdd at this time using a new hdd and the imaging tool software.

There are two IDE connections, does my cd rom go to the primary and new hdd to the secondary ide?

3 beep followed by 2 beep followed by 3beep is normally the power supply .
Change this first.

Then if it boots properly and your hard drive does not come back on then change the hard drive

@jsaad

Did you manage to determine if the hard drive or PSU was faulty? Let us know how you went.

Cheers

I believe it is the BFT and the HDD. I get no output from the monitor. The system ran for a few weeks with 20+ phones and a PRI but no VM or ACD so I don't think its the PSU.

This is a replacement BFT. I haven't tried a new power supply, I believe I have one.

The pus supplies power to the hard drive.
Do you still get beeps when you power up.

For kicks I changed the power supply and now I can get some output from the monitor like a normal bcm bootup

I get Device I/O error 00001000 and then it hangs

I managed to boot to maintenance o/s and do some chkdsk and scandisk it ran a bunch of cleanups etc and it still doesn't fully boot.

I suppose I have data corruption?

I've attached a CD rom and a USB CdRom but I cannot get it to boot from the CDrom with the BIT disks.

Do the LEDs on the front constantly flash or are they steady.
If they are flashing then the hard drive has failed.

Replace the hard drive.

yes, the LEDS are flashing. I'm trying to figure out how to re-image the drive. Or do you think i need a new drive?
