Long story short, BCM 4.0.2.03

Service down off and on all day yesterday. CO said it was BCM and BCM vendor did check and says that it is CO. CO changed out the smartjack and replaced cables as precaution and BCM DTM card was changed out as precaution by vendor.

CO and Vendor are still playing blame game and we are still intermitenly out of service.

CO says there are no errors on the T1.
BCM shows Critical Error 44 (Core Telephony - "Remote Alarm Indication" long term alarm threshold has been exceeded on the DTM.) every time the service goes down, before and after the DTM was replaced.

Other Alarms that show during outages:
75 - Critical - Core Telephony - Digital trunking clock in free run.
323 - Minor - Core Telephony - "Degraded Minute"short term alarm threshold has been exceeded on the DTM. The module is in a no-new-calls state.
42 - Critial - Core Telephony - "Degraded Minute"short term alarm threshold has been exceeded on the DTM. The module is in a no-new-calls state.
43 - Critical - Core Telephony - "Alarm Indication Signal" long term alarm threshold has been exceeded on the DTM.

Does anyone have any ideas? This is our major HUB for North America and my butt is on the block b/c this hasn't been resolved. Any ideas or help would be great! Thanks!

Rarely do we change DTM modules(PRI) they are pretty reliable. If the vendor replaced it i would definitely ask the CO to bring their PRI tester, plug it at your location(of course you'll loose your PRI while they are testing the PRI) and let them run the test for at least an hour to see if the loop is good(no slips at all).

This doesn't happen to be in the 807 Area Code does it?

I was able to get them to do a vendor meet at 1pm today so I am hoping that there will be a resolution today. I will ask about the specific PRI testing they are using! Thanks for the heads up!
My gut tells me that it is a CO issue as the users can still dial DN to DN internally and when you make test calls when the service is down, nothing comes up on the UIP in BCM Monitor. CO says they see no errors...but they always say that. (I do Telecom for 21 locations across North America and I always have CO issues...par for the course, right?)

No, this is the 718 area code around JFK airport in NY. What is the 807 area code?

Thanks guys!

North Western Ontario, Canada.

We just recently had similar problems. Finally isolated to timing errors beyond the LEC (Local Exchange Carrier)

It has all come down to errors on the circuit...don't know why it took them 2 WEEKS to figure this out.

Verizon is fixing them now. Hopefully, everything will be done by the end of the day! Atleast I hope so! I am scheduled for vacation next week!
