I asked this on the BCM forum but did not get any hits so I thought what the heck let's try it here.

Where is the clock source for the T1 on the BCM? Is it in the BCM or the T1 mod itself? My problem is that I can not fax (in or out) over a PRI circuit you can make a voice call but the fax will disconnect. The carrier says that they see the clock slipping and we have changed the T1 card and still having the same problem. If I route the fax call out of a B1 circuit it has no problems the only time it don't work is when I try to send it out of the PRI.

Clocking is not the problem ... if the clock slips the circuit doesnt care if it is voice or fax ...it will drop. the carrier is giving you know what.

Are u using an ATA or the ASM8 module?

to answer ur question the clock services is on the card itself.

MAKE SURE YOU ARE CLOCKING OFF THE T1 SPAN, THE CARRIER IS LOOKING AT THE T1 SPAN COMING INTO THEM AND THEY MAY BE SEEING SLIPS BUT YOU ARE MUST LIKELY SLIPPING FROM THEM WHICH IN TURN WILL SEND SLIPS BACK TO THEM. IF YOU ARE SURE THAT YOUR CLOCKING OFF THE T1 YOU WILL NEED SOME TEST GEAR OR BE READY TO PAY FOR THEM TO COME OUT

We are using the ASM mod I have no problems with voice I can talk over the span all day. The only thing is when you try to fax it drops the call not the whole span just the
B channel that is trying to fax. I have never run into this problem before on any of the systems. I'm just trying to get imput so I can go back to the carrier and tell them why I think it is their fault and not my system. Thanks for the help so far.

I've had this problem several times. Customers would call me and say that faxes were dropping but voice was fine. Of course, both were actually affected. However, the Fax being digital (G3) would drop and the voice you might hear clicking. I would dial into the switch and for the the Option 11 or 61 would LCNT and note slips (under or over).
For the MICS when a customer would call with the same scenerio that you mentioned I would use my Test Set (t-berd, sunset,ec) and test for slips to confirm and force the provider to stop blamming me and fix their problem. In all of my many slip problems it was always the Provider. Last thought, make sure your T1/PRI is set for Primary clocking if this is your main source for stratum level syncronizaton.
