BCM Call Pilot Issue

Ever had problem where you call vmail pilot, or F981 and only get dead air?

Had issue where vmail erased itself. Repgm and lasted two days then erased itself again. Checked BFT and replaced due to bad caps.

Checked PC to see that pgm info still there via PC and ok. Telephony pgm seems to be ok too.

Corrupted keycodes can cause that problem. That can happen after a BFT failure due to the system rebooting during file access on the hard drive.

If that is the case what do I do? System was a 3.5 & was upgraded to 3.7 earlier in the year by another tech.

do you have a backup? then re-image the harddrive and restore the backup.

If I had a 3.7 imgaging tool, would it still work knowing the original s/w was 3.5 and later upgraded to 3.7?

Someone has told me to try changing the MSC.

the release the bcm was shipped with doesnt matter. you can re-image every bcm to 3.7 if you have the MSC1A card. with the older MSC1 it will not work.

I ended up doing a restore on a spare 3.7 system and then transferred the HD & MSC over to the problem BCM. Everything seems to be working for the moment. Just have to hope it stays up for more than 48hrs.
