Have been installing quite a few small system BCMs lately and would like to give BASIC system administration access from a set for system speed dial programming etc. Is it doable without them having full access? I'v searched through everything that I can think of, but don't find much information on limited admin. programming, except for Unified Manager. Most of these small systems are not on customer LAN, and no dedicated PC.

no programming from set on bcm all through interface to pc

ski season has started

Feature **system to program from phone and give users partial set lock.

Well, we know about some programming from set, but??????? it is too unlimited. Need to clamp it down part way.

Did you try **BASIC ? it may be limited for what you need.

I'll give it a try when I get on site tomorrow. I usually have one or two sitting around here to be staged, but none in the lab right now to experiment with.

sorry, but BASIC wont work. However **user does work and it
is very limited, it will give you speed dials 71 and up and you are able to view and change only the basic of things.

Sorry I told you wrong. F**USER will give you the basic.
program Speed Dials (24) starting at 71. View sets but not change them. Check if this will work for you.

Bgun, Thanks for your input. I think the partial set lock may be what I need. I will check it out this afternoon. This is for some small BCM sites that are being used like Norstar systems. No VOIP or anything. Just the basics.

Update:
The admin worked. Only problem I found is that they have access to date and time, which should only be changed through Unified Manager. I caution customer about not changing D&T. Hope they remember.

At least at one basic site, they did a D&T from phone- it just wouldn't keep. The next time we were out, we did it proper.
