Hi,

Ive inherited a few BCM systems to admin - on my two main systems Im unable to backup except manually to my system.

Id really like to schedule a nighttime backup to prevent disruption to our contact centre.

The BCM is really unhelpful - test connection: result - failed. It doesn't provide the reason for failure.

I started out trying a network share, not Ive moved on to a ftp server.

The ftp server is pingable and succesfully tracerouted from the BCM admin utilities.

I thought maybe it was a syntax error...Ive attached a jpg so that you'all can see what Ive input.

TIA

Oooops, I thought there was a file uploader...

FTP Settings:

FTP Server: 10.x.x.x
User name: username
Password: ******
Directory: BCM_BACKUP

Im not using any slashes.

Can you access the FTP folder from your laptop? Try opening a command prompt and typing:

ftp 10.x.x.x <enter>
username: username <substitute username>
password: password <substitute password>

In your FTP server settings, you should automatically have your username account using the BCM_BACKUP as the root directory. If the above ftp access works from your laptop, try removing the directory from the BACKUP utility, or if it's already a subdirectory make sure your username account has sufficient user rights to read/write to that subdirectory. I use a free FTP server called CERBERUS for all my FTP programs. It's easy to configure and best of all it's free.

--DB

I should have stated in the opening, that I can connect to the FTP.

The BCM can ping the FTP site, but it won't connect.
