BCM Auto Attendant Question

I just installed our first BCM 50 and it is a nice little box. I was excited to see auto attendant built into the box (powered by Callpilot without the need for additional licensing). However, I have ran into a slight problem.

We run retail stores and I need the auto attendant to answer the one incoming line and provide store info and directions. Then, if the caller presses 0 or stays on the line, the call should be transferred. That is where my problem begins. I need all of my phones to ring. Without auto attendant, this works fine by including the line on all sets. But, with auto attendant I have to transfer to an extension.

Is there a way around this? Also, because the call is transferred to an extension, it rings 4 times and is disconnected rather than continuing to ring. As you can imagine, in a retail store this is a big problem.

Any ideas?

Build a hunt group, assign the sets you want to ring to that hunt group, then set the DN of the hunt group as the attendant DN in the greeting table. That should do the trick.

Can they all ring at once, or will there be "hunting"? That may do it even of they hunt.

Thanks.

You can configure the hunt groups as broadcast (ring all at once), linear (try phone 1, then 2, then 3, etc), or rotary (try phone 1, phone 1 goes to back of line for next call, etc).

I think you'd want broadcast from your initial post.

Also make sure that you bump up the Transfer Callback Feature or it will try to go back after 4 rings.

You can also build a Ringing group through Services, Ringing Services, click on a Ring Group and and simply add the extensions to the ring group that you want to ring together. It doesn't have the overflow and other features of a hunt group, but is simple to build.
