BCM 400 4.0 with ATA's for fax machines, can recieve faxes but when sending does not finish comunication (no handshake or tones).
System dial out fine and I do recieve tone from other machine just not mine.

What type of trunks? If a T1, make sure your timing is set as Primary... Seen that play funky stuff with analog ports for modems/faxes..

Yes, is PRI actually is 3 of em, and they are set to clock externally.

I have a ASM8 and 4 ATA for 12 fax lines and the problem is system wide not just on ATA.

Your T1's should be set like this:

Main T1: Primary
Next T1: Secondary
Third T1: Master

And think about it, if it's a system wide analog problem (not just ATA's, but also ASM's) wouldn't it be prudent to think it's something that all analog devices use? Like the T1's?

PRI's should be set one as Primary and the other two as Secondary. Master is only for Point-to-Point. This will allow one PRI to get timing from the CO and the other two to clock off of it.

Yes, I was unclear
1-was set to primary
2- was internal
3-was internal

I did change the primary clock source from bus 6 to bus 4 and this seems to have worked for whatever reason.

thanks for pointing me to the right direction not sure why this made diffence since they all have own D-channels.
