I have a BCM 400 4.0 with a PRI. We're sending inbound faxes via DID to an ATA II. During "Normal Service' the DID call for the fax is sent to the ATA and all is well. When the system is in Night Service, we get a message from the voicemail "the person you have called is not available, using the dialpad etc..."

what's interesting is that when I hear "the person you have called is not available, using the dialpad etc..." I can dial the ata extension and hear the fax answer.

SO I believe somehow the call is routed to the v/m just like the main number. However the target line (275) control set is set to none and the set itself (ata 240) is also set to none. the target line is also Private to:240. Usually I have no problem with this but, I don't remember or know what I've done wrong.

It appears there are lots of issues with Ringing Service on BCM 4.0.
The call into Target Line 275 at night is being answered by VM, but the line itself has no association to a greeting table, so you get that generic greeting. I would bet it is being sent there by Ringing Service.

By default all lines are assigned to Ring Group 001.
By default all lines and sets are assigned a control set, typically the DN on port 101.
There is a known problem with changing control sets and Ringing Service. The BCM requires a power down reboot for the change to fully take effect.
This could be your issue, since you don't have a control set assigned .... it is apparent it was changed.

I would also suggest checking out the line programming under ringing service. You might be able to just get away with assigning line 275 to a different ring group and be done with it.

Good Luck!

okay, so either a reboot, or assign line 275 to ring group 2. That makes sense because I could not assign another target line to the normal night service. I'm doing most of my programming with a phone not with the PC.
