BCM & Alog trunks

I have a BCM 200 Rls 4 software with 8 alog trunks. There are 2 different departments of the business with their own lines. What I want to do is setup 1 set of exts to use Pool A and the 2nd set of exts to use Pool B.

I've split the lines into both Pools, and pointed all the exts to the relevant Pool for their lines, however the problem I'm having is that I cant get both sets of exts to dial 9 for an external call.

Department A dials out using 9 and department B dials out using 8, I was hopeing both departments could dial 9 to avoid confusion.

Can this be done??

I don't think so. I usually give each set an appearance of the lines they need the main sets get appearance and ring. Then they cannot access each others trunks.

You could do it, but I wouldn't recommend implementing it. You would need to set up night routing. Have route 000 use pool a and route 001 use pool b. Set up a destination code 9 and in the night routing use route 000 first then 001 second. Have the routes overflow. Only give pool access to their respective pools.

Put each company's lines in a seperate pool with a different pool code and add a pool button to the phones so they can access only their pool. Then they just hit the button and dial the number, not knowing or caring what the pool code is. Be sure to limit access to only their own pool in configuration as they can still use the code if they know it.

hi...glimma keep it as you did.....but go to line pools and then clear the access codes for pools a and b...then dialing plan > general : external code (use 9)
