I am working on a BCM 200 release 3.6. I had all the set DN's programmed fine and they were working. One morning I came in and one user reports getting this message on her phone: Denied Access Admin. When I look at the switch I see that users DN as an Inactive DN. How do I make that DN active again? So that the user can use thier phone.

Thanks in advance!!!

I have seen that message but normally when someone is dialing out if they do not have access to the pool.If the DN is disabled it normally says in maintenance.Have you tried unplugging the handset and plugging it back in.

The only time I see problems like this is when people move phones around.

Could it be a cabling issue? I ruled it out since I have power on the instrument and I am getting that message. I did as you said and tried the unplug thing but still the phone will not come up and its DN is still listed as an Inactive Set DN.

PLEASE HELP!!!!

the Ext # is 8601. Thats what it should be. But that extension is still under inactive set DN's.

You might have a faulty phone have you tried the set in a different extension.

I did some investigations and discovered that the problem phone was actually relocated by a user without permission. I was under the belief that it was plugged into its original port. But they had moved it without telling me and so they were getting that message, Denied Access Admin. You were right acewarlock, thanks so much for the help.

Its raining cats and dogs in Jamaica.

Thanks everybody for the guidance!
