Anyone have any details about a 6.0 release?

They are just about to start Beta trials and I have 2 customers applying to participate.

One HUGE improvement is for remote users. NO VPN ROUTERS REQUIRED AT THE REMOTE END. It's about g&d d@m$ed time!!!!!!
I know this works because I've already connected to Nortel's lab system with an old 2004 set from my house. Just set the S1 server address to the public ip of the BCM and voila......it asks for your registration password. Works like a charm.

There are also improvements in the FM/FM to support the use of analog trunks.

The introduction of the 2050 V4.

Support for multiple Business names.

Another big one.....the interoperability with heritage Nortel and Avaya products. guess we'll hear more about that one a little later on.

Enhancements to the Meet Me conference portal.

Enhancements to the Advanced Paging Productivity Pack.

Improvements in the SIP public trunking provisioning.

There's also something with the software design of the T-series sets. I think they're getting rid of the customized stuff in there. Something about 2 customized ASIC components that have reached their end of life. There is reportedly no change in the form or function of the phone so I guess it's just internal stuff.

That's about it as far as I know.

From what I've seen, it's stuff that should have been done about 3 years ago. Better late than never I guess.

One thing that would be great is if Avaya got their IPOffice call recording application "Contact Store" to work with the BCM. That would be absolute gift.

I hope they expanded the number of characters on set names beyond 7.

telcodog

that would be nice!!!!

It's only dialtone-VZ

Since we're wishing, I wish for energy independence. But alas, I think we have the same chance geek. lol

Would be good if they finally support SIP over TCP rather than just UDP. Then it would stand a chance of working correctly with Microsoft Exchange as a UM platform.

i2050 R4 is out ... no difference than 3.x except for the red letters :)

I think that version will only work on the CS1000. The documentation I read says you need Rel 6.0 for it to work on the BCM........but hey, this is a Nortel so you never know. Maybe it works on Rel 5.0 now.

2050v4 - there is a bulletin on
