I was trying to install an analog phone on a BCM50e with no expansion mods. Just the one amphenol. I am under the impression that the analog ports follow the 4 CO lines and would start with the slate pair. In Element Manager it shows that the system has 4 CO ports/12 digital sta/4 analog ports. It shows those as ACTIVE in the Keycodes section. But I cannot get the analog phone to work or get analog dial tone from any of the pairs that are not in use, tried them all. What am I missing?

Yes, pairs 5, 6, 7 & 8 are the analog stations. I'd suggest disabling the ports in Maintenance and then re-enable them. If that doesn't work, try a reboot.

Or try another cable harness just to check the pairs.
Just connect it temporarily and check these pairs, 5,6,7,8 to see if you get dial tone.
In the uk the early rel 1 system the ports did not work.
It was only on the rel 2 that they worked.
