Hi we have moved a BCM 50 and the enduser would like the cabling taken off of krone blocks and put onto a patch panel.

I have assumed that each handset only uses 1 pr (it does on the krone strip) and have put this onto pr 4 and 5 (blue) on the patch panel

The phone light up but sit there flashing and do nothing

any ideas ????

(sorry for the basic q's - IP Office engineer doing a favour for someone)

If it's the main cabinet, the Blue pair (Pair 1) is the Trunk port.

The first digital port on the main unit is on pair 25 (mauve/slate)

The digital sets work backwards on the RJ21 cable

The last pair of the 25 pair is the first station.

Pins 9 & 34 (red/brown, brown red) have no connection, so you will need to skip wiring this pair to your patch panel to wire pair 25 for your 1st station to appear on patch slot 24.

If it is rapid flashing, move your pair to the orange

Yes, it's pins 4 and 5, and is not polarity sensitive. Flashing usually indicates your on an Analog port. I answered this question for you on the Norstar thread.

Mauve, now that's funny. I've heard rookies call it purple, but mauve.

As a side note, you can always log into the BCM's web portal by and download the manuals in PDF form. There is a wiring diagram in the Installation and Commissioning NTP.

Hey Dewey I need you to move that 10 button set to the Mauve/Green pair...Dude that is toooo funny!

I wonder if it's called violet worldwide?

Khosher may not be in the US...
