Good Day,

After a loss of power, the BCM 50 is unable to accessed via the web interface, the IP trunks are not working but users are able to dial 9 and make outside calls. Attempts to connects to the BCM via the console port are not working, I am using Hyperterminal 9600,n,8,1.
What could be the problem with the BCM ...
Any assistance would be appreciated.

Have you tried to reset the system by unplugging and plugging in again?

I have powered off the box and reset the cpu card but the problem still persist.

I'm guessing you don't have a BCM 50 since you mention web interface and a serial port. Is it a 200 or 400?

Are the status lights flashing on the front of the unit? Have you checked the base function tray for green/leaking capacitors?

Thanks for the correction,it is a 200. Yes..the lights are flashing at the front of the unit. I checked but they are no leaking capacitors.

Connect a monitor to the BCM and boot it up, check for any error messages. If you do not get the blue screen with white lettering that says 'windows NT...' at the top, you probably have a bad hard drive. If you see something like 'no OS found' you definitely have a bad hard drive.

I believe the HDD is working because the extns have dial tone and they have 9 access. The IP trunks and the web access is not working.

All telephony resources are run off the MSC, the hard drive loads windows and all NT services (i.e. LAN ports, modem ports, unified manager....etc). Try booting with the monitor and verify.

of course, I am assuming you do not have a 4.0 since I refer to Windows
