Hello all,

Is it possible to connect a Nortel BCM50 to a Avaya Integral I55 trough a IP trunk (H323).
Just to make a call form one to another, no other facilities.

I think Nortel's version of H323 is proprietary.

I've done H323 between BCM and other manufacturers gear, not specifically the system you mention though. It works, but you don't always get caller ID or what not.

Both H.323 and SIP are standards and not proprietary pre se. The challenge with both of them is that there is base functionality as well as a number of optional ways of implementing and even the ability to create "vendor specific" overlays. No two companies tend to implement exactly the same.
