Hi All,

I have a BCM 50 3.0 question,I know I am missing a step here because I have done this few times.

I changed the IP address under IP subsystem to 10.0.0.250, set the default gateway to 10.0.0.251 and change the lan address on the router to 10.0.0.251 set DHCP to none. Problem is I can browse to the router thru internet explorer but when I try to launch from BCM getting Bad Gateway.

I know I must be missing something here.

Any Ideas?

Published IP Address?

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

I'm guessing you're not using the internal router in the BCM 50. When I've had this problem, here's what I do:

Disconnect the BCM from the network.
Set the IP settings back to "use DHCP".
Connect to the OAM port. You can then log into the internal router.

The worst part about the 50e is the DHCP server lives on the router, and if you're not using the router, or the BCM 50 has a different default gateway than itself, then you get the 'bad message from upstream server' error message.

I am using the internal router, sorry should have explained better.

I have the IP address set on the BCM to 10.0.0.250 class C subnet. Default gateway is 10.0.0.251. The internal router address is 10.0.0.251, DHCP is set to None. I can access fine browsing into the router but cannot access thru Element Manager.

You might be trying to connect through the OAM port. In that case you wont be able to access it because the router IP address is not on your subnet

What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger.

Not connecting thru the OAM port, connecting thru customers network. Customer is only using 1 internal subnet, I am able to access the router thru a VPN connection no problems,I can access both BCM and router remotely, when I try to launch from Element Manager It gives me Bad Gateway.
