I have a BCM 50, R2. The LAN ports keep locking up and denying access. The problem is, the replacement box they sent me is a BCM50e, 5.0. Can I regenerate the keycodes for the R2 box and load them onto the R5 box? And use the backup I have and restore from it?? Thanks in advance.

Check the IP address from your LAN port and the OAM port, they might be interfering. If I remember right they changed the default IP addresses in ver 5, but I'm not sure without looking in one.

I think you can migrate the keycodes, but your version would still be at release 2 and you couldn't restore a release 2 image onto a release 5 hard disk, so you would have to reuse your old v2 disk.

If it's working, then leave it alone!.

you would need buy upgrade R2 to R5, then migrate keycode to new box R5.
Before, try to image R2 the bad box.
