I am having issues with sets/DN's with Answer DN buttons programmed locking up (I/C and answer buttons lit up and unresponsive) regularly (once a week or so). I have to disable and re-enable the port to correct. Just unplugging and plugging back in doesnt really help. The system has no patches applied and I can not find a patch for this issue. Any help on a patch or resolution would be appreciated. Let me know if more info is needed.

Would STRONGLY recommend you apply the latest SU and then try again.

Always install BCM patches whether you think you need them or not. More often then not there are fixes in there that nortel is not even aware of. They write a patch to fix one problem they know about and it actually ends up fixing others they do not know about.

I second the motion.
Very important to keep your patches up to date.

I think Nortel is aware of everything the patch fixes, but they just don't publish, or admit to, all the fixes.

Thanks for all your input. I dont suppose any knows a reliable free source for downloading patches?

I am aware of bcmsupport and will use them if i can not find a free site.

Sory about that. I didn't know they charged for patches. I don't need them as I have Nortel access. Let me know what patches you need and I'll FTP them to you. Contact me via the direct link through my handle.

emillysdad, Im a little ignorant here, where your direct link at?

I provide access at my site as well.
All patches are avaialble.
I add them to the site as soon as Nortel posts them.
I do charge a small fee ($10) to help with bandwidth costs.

TLDuk, they are 7316e's. I dont have any problems with the R2's and Answer DN's, just the R3.

SupportDude, thanks for the offer. I will check it out

I had the same issue with 1140's on 3.0 patched to current. I opened a ticket with Nortel and as a temporary fix assigned target lines associated with the DN's(assuming you have DID's.)
