Can anybody tell me whether remote workers at home with i2004 IP telephones still need VPN routers at their homes? I have a customer who would like to install a BCM 50 R2 and have a digital set for reception and the rest IP telephones where the office workers can take their IP telephones home & just plug them into their high speed internet service at home. We are talking about 8 IP sets.

Thanks for any input.

Okay, looks like wishful thinking on my part. It looks like I can't get away from using VPN routers at the remote locations. My situation is most of the workers are in different cities at their homes and instead of using the softphone they would like to use the IP sets and I would like to keep the setting up of these phones as simple as possible for the end user.
