We have a BCM 50 in one of our remote offices. I have just basic knowledge of management of this system - if something breaks or needs to be reconfigured, I've sorted it out, but that's it.

We have some Polycom Soundsation 2's leftover from another project. Are these at all compatible with the BCM50? Some quick searching seems to indicate not, but doesn't seem 100% conclusive.

Yes it is compatible.

Polycom SoundStation is an analog conference unit which means it will work on any analog telephone line.
In your case it would hook up to one of 4 Internal Analog ports on the BCM50 - used for cordless phones, fax machines etc too.
Most come with 2 analog ports activated but you can purchase a key code to activate the last 2 if needed.

What curlycord said above is true but by default the BCM50s have zero internal analog station ports active. Just need to check your licenses.

If your BCM 50 is wired to a punch block, your analog stations are white-slate, red-blue, red-orange, red green (5th - 8th spots down).

You can always use a spare digital port and use an ATA2 device in order to convert the digital port to analog and then connect the Audio conf. device.
