Ok....Please forgive me if i am not clear enough as I am BRAND new to Telecom. I was given the task getting of a couple of T7208 phones back on line. A couple of the phones have no dial tone, as well as no power, and the rest of the phones can not dial locally, nor 4 digit. They are attached to a BCM 50, ver.6.0.2.05.237. Can someone please tell me where to start come up with a solution to resolve this issue?

Thanks in advance,

Those phones should normally work OK as they only require two wires. It's best to check that they work at the BCM end if you have a patch panel on site.

You say that the phones can't dial out locally. Can they dial out at all?.

Thank you firebirdscrambler for responding. I have traced the line back to the patch panel, abd butted the line directly and got a dial tone. The weird thing though is that the number came up differently than the internal ext. Is that supposed to happen? All the ext's that are not working are tied to one main number (2535), and through that main number you are able to enter the ext that you want, but those ext's aren't ringing. Does that make any sense? None of the phones that I have tested that have power were able to dial out nor internally. The expansion card that those ext's reside on reads "enabling" like they are hung, and the expansion card with the other numbers that are working say "enabled". Could that possibly be the issue? Should I reboot the BCM? Once again I apologize if I'm not making any sense...still trying to get the lingo down.

Thanks in advance,

Personally I would try to log onto the BCM system and obtain more information such as a backup etc. It sounds as if one of the external modules isn't connected. I'm assuming that you have one or two modules that connect via an Ethernet cable onto the main unit?. Check that both modules have power on them.

I would also look at the Alarms within the BCM system to gain more of an idea what is happening.

OK Firebird.... I will check the modules for connectivity and let you know how it turns out. Thank you so much again for your help!!

ok firebird.... I'm at the site now and have checked the connectivity of my two modules. My DSM 32 expansion module 's first LED is solid red, and the next LED is solid green. Does that first LED mean that something is wrong with my power, and the second for status (operating in default mode)? Should I cycle the power to it? I saw this in some documentation, so could you clear this up for me? I'll continue to try other options.
