I have an existing MICS customer who is adding a new branch office and is wanting to go with a BCM 50. Do I just make sure that we have 4 ATAs at the Modular? Will those IP trunks link up with the IP trunks on the BCM 50? Do I need MCDN on the BCM 50?

I think that you will need to add an equipment like a Contivity 1010 to the Norstar VoIP Gateway, so what you will be doin' is to create a VPN between the BCM 50 and the Contivity, then you will be able to route your IP calls between them. Instead of 4 ATAs I guess you will need 4 trunk (Analog) ports free in the Norstar. The VoIP Gateway has 4 ports and these ones will provide you the "trunks" for the Norstar.

That's the way that I've done it before.

The VoIP gateway can use four analog trunk ports or as you suggested four ATAs and four trunk ports at the other end.
You must have a way for the Gateways to see each other's IP address. If you are using broadband order it with fixed ip addresses in the same subnet.

Your best bet would be to link the Norstar with 4 ports off of an LS/DS CLID card connected to the Norstar IP Gateway.
The Norstar IP gateway will convert the 4 analog ports to H.323 The Norstar will also need hardware to provide DTMF receivers for the auto answer analog trunks.
The required hardware would either be a services card or an E&M/DISA card.
You will need a keycode for 4 IP trunks on the BCM.
MCDN will not be suppported over the Norstar IP Gateway.
