BCM 50 expansion cabinet making loud noise....must be the fan.
Everything works fine but can't get the module out of cabinet...jammed in there Can anyone offer advice on how to dismantle the cabinet itself in order to remove module and have a look inside?
Thanks
if u mean the module is fitted on to the correct bracket for wall mounting then at the bottom of the unit where the cables are located the is a small steel locking bar normally with a small screw to secure it, undo the screw and slide it to the right this will the release the module and it can be slid out....
Giblett...I am quite able to get the cabinet out of the wall mounting ...it's the module in the cabinet I'm unable to remove by releasing the spring loaded mechanism holding it in place.
Snowman 50....don't see 4 screws holding module in place. This installation is on the wall, not in a comms cabinet.
Thanks both anyway.
I want to know how to take the expansion cabinet itself apart in order to release the module. I see 2 screws in bottom of cabinet but doubt they are holding it together.
You need to flip the unit over and on the bottom, at the rounded back end, you will see three screw holes. Remove those three screws and the top cover should slide back and off...then you can hold down the catch bar and remove the module. Then reinstall the cover and the screws and your back in shape. Good Luck!
The wires to the fan are fussy and may be causing the noise if the fan is in contact with them; albeit it might be the fan itself. Take care the fan label faces back of the unit, and the fsn cable is not trapped by the HDD cage.
Finally got the thing out of the cabinet.I was looking at the wrong 3 screws.....(even though it's clearly marked in the docs)
Jeeesh!
Turns out it was the fan on the module ,not the cabinet fans.
Got it to quiet down but it will have to be replaced.
Thanks for the help.
