Have two locations with BCM 50's, site A and site B in 2 different states. The customer would like to have the ability for a customer to call either location and by use of a four digit extension call any DN. The issue we are having is neither location has a receptionist to transfer the call manaully, it is all done through the auto-attendant. Nortel is telling me to accomplish this everything has to be centralized? Is there any way to do this?

Ideally, yes, you'd want a centralized auto attendant to make it "seamless". But, you can't do centralized mail between BCM 50's - one site would need to be a 200/400.

How many users are at each site? Depending on the size there might be a workaround that could be done.

both sites are relitivly small. 8 phones on one and 15 on the other. If you know a work around, please please share.

biv343 - Do you know how to do this work around? Contact me directly if you do please. justin@highpointnetworks.com

To get to the 8 phone site you could use a CCR tree and transfer externally (for Joe, press 1, Sue, press 2). have 1 and 2 transfer externally over the IP trunks.

The 15 phone site is a bit trickier. I can't think of a good way to do it that wouldn't be complex for the callers.

That's VOIP CDP 6 Tells BCM to call other site, xxx is the ext number.

Many ways to accomplish this feat.
The question is .... how are the two sites linked together?
Are the callers instructed to dial in the AA ... or does the customer want them to show up in the "company directory"?

But, I don't think that will work from an auto attendant unless it goes through a CCR tree. AA's only let you dial internal extensions, unless using centralized voicemail.

Not true Biv ....
Next time your in CP Manager, go to the System Properties page. There is an option there called "Enable Network Transfers". Clicking this option off allows dialing via the AA to other sites. MCDN/Private Networking is a requirement. If I remember right you also have to use routing and the DN type on the route must be Private.

Like I said ... lots of ways to do this.

CDP???

Also, we have check the "enable network tranfers", and got the MCDN/Private Networking software (however there is nothing to configure).

We don't want the auto attendant to say any extension but if you put in a 4XXX extension, it transfers it to the local DN, if you put in 3XXX, I would have thought it would have used 3=VOIP trunk, and then XXX to the extension on the other end.

Nortel told us this is not possible on this BCM 50. Anything you guys have is greatly appreciated!

I apologize, here is some more information. Each site has there own AA, own mailbox's and own incoming lines. There is no DID in the picture at all. The 2 sites are connected together with 4 VOIP trunks running over a VPN. We do have 4 diget dialing working from any DN to any DN.

Thanks for all the help!

I would assume your programming is similar to the following:
Remote Gateway Destination Digit = 3
Destination Code = 3
Normal Sched = Rte xxx
Absorb = 0

Here is the question ... what is the DN type of the route that the destination code of 3 uses?

It must be "Private" for this to work.

CDP = Coordinated Dialing Plan, which is basically what you are using.
Go to Dialing Plan>Private and set to CDP and the appropriate DN length for the private network (looks like 4 based on your example).
