In themodem Tab field under Resources, put a tick in the 'Enable modem' box at the top.
On the right hand side where it says line, insert the Target Line number which carries the DID.
Just below that, remove the check from Auto Disable modem.
Create a dialup networking connection to the DDI number, entering the respective username and password.
When connected, Launch Element Manager and connect.
Thanks. Got it before I read your post. It was the PC end that was not clear.
Note for others: the password in your dial up connection should be the same as your assinged password for the IP address (default at the PC end 10.10.14.1) used in excrement mangler.
My connection through modem is just about as fast as on site by LAN and it's been solid for 40 minutes so far.
No, an OLD laptop with a slow processor.. at least by today's standards. The mangler interface is a HUGE program. I've kept my laptop all these years because it does a great job of talking to M1s with an old DOS program. Program has a nice split screen where I can view the cache and current info at the same time. Don't want to give it up.
Don't think my patch took last night system timed out after an hour and disconnected. This morning the time on the system was stuck at just after midnight.
