BCM 50 modem configuration

I have ust recently installed a BCM 50 and can't seem to get the modem to work. I get modem tones but no negotiation. Any thoughts?

Ya try waiting like 20 min. It might be as slow as the 200/400 dial up. Might be the flash. If not I'm not sure. Are you using IP address 10.10.14.1.

No, I'm using the default IP address given which was 10.10.14.2. I think 10.10.14.1 is that for the BCM to dial out. I have no experience with the 200/400 I'm a bit new to the world of BCMs.

after you use a dialing program, did you use the broswer to access the IP address?

No, I didn't even get that far. I dailed in, heard the tones, and then nothing. I don't even think it authenticated. Also, with the BCM50 you don't use the browser any more you have to use Element Manager.

We have a tier 2 ITAS case with Nortel. Apparently it is a known issue..
