I have a BCM 50 that I got from a business closing. I can't gain access via the OAM port. I can get to the net, but when I enter the default user and password, I'm told it can't be accessed.

Am I doing something wrong or has the password been changed? If so, how can I find it?

Secondly, how can I find the software level on this unit if I can't get in via the OAM port?

Hi Mooretel

I will contact you to reset password otherwise you can do a level 2 reset on the BCM50 using the reset button in a special way but you will need the original key codes first to reload them.
KRS will tell you what software level it is as well once in the BCM you can view the Keycodes section under SW Version when you log in with EM.
Googling the part number will tell you only what software it was original at.

Cheers

Thanks. Rather not do a level 2 reset as I have no documentation on existing codes. All I know is what options it has by doing 9*8.

As curly has stated, there are a few of us who can help you with your BCM 50 query on accessing the unit.

Do Feature 9*8.. Take a note of all the keycodes (features) it has active, sequence number, and the actual 24 digit keycode. Do a level 2 reset. Re-enter the keycode information.

If you have access to the keycode info via 9*8, the unit is a release 1, 2, or 3.
