BCM50 3.0. This weekend have had a system that seems to keep crashing. All phones get rapid blinking message waiting light, and the reboot triangles. I have not been able to look at alarms yet. Everytime this happens pulling the power and plugging back in cures the problem for a couple of hours. I was thinking this is some power issue with the ups. Seems like system is getting just enough power but nobodys home. Any other thoughts or has this happened to someone else. By the way main cabinet plus one expansion. All pots lines and just digital phones.

Sounds like you're on the right track. Why don't you try bypassing the UPS for a few days to see if the issue goes away?

You should be able to log into the ups and check stats if it's a decent one.

I dont want to worry you BUT The past 2 system i was at did this then the hard drive died a few days later.

It just died when i was in the middle of a backup and never came back on.

Thanks for the responses. As it turns out I was able to go to site today. The ups was making up for low ac voltage. Put a meter on the outlet and sure enough the voltage never reached 110. It fluctuated between and 106 and 109. Used an extension cord to plug ups into another outlet and system and ups ran trouble free for two hours and then some. Wow never seen an electrical outlet do that. You learn something new every day. If someone has this problem in the future check voltage on outlet. Should be between 110 and 115. Below 110 does not seem acceptable. There also was no strange alarms in the log besides reboots which I knew about. At least it was not the hard drive, but on reboots that seemed to be working OK. So thats what led me to the power issue.

Thanks guys

Kevin
