I have a client with a BCM50 Rls 1. He wants to get a fancy telephone and was looking at the 1120 or 1140 IP phones.
I think he has the basic package 4x8x8x2x2 from way back. Since it is release 1 he should be able to run up to 2 IP sets correct ?? He seems to think he needs to be rls 3.

Everything depends on what was included in the keycode. In the old days of BCM 400 etc, some distributors were giving out one IP client with every system but I think when the BCM 50 came out that everything had to be paid up front first.

It's best to get a copy of the keycode so that we can see what your customer has. If you need further assistance, then let one of us know as we should be able to sort you out.

Get the ones with the e (1140e) at the end as they have the back light.
Looks like they have 2 IP Client seats.

They have 2 internal IP Client licenses so I figure we can do 2 IP sets. So release 1 is okay for IP sets ???

Yes they will be. The only issue you might have is the type of IP sets that you plan to use. Although you want to use the 1120 / 1140 versions, there might be firmware issues and you won't really know this until you connect them up.

Be careful with the new ip sets as some of these won't work on rel1.

You may have to upgrade to rel 3 to get these to work.

I have ip sets from an old bcm 400 4.0 we will test with them...

Some say 2.0 supported one states they had to update all patches first.

That's what one of the guides say.

Maybe patches were release afterwords.
