BCM 50 IP phones

If I set up an i2002 or i2004 in the office where the system is how involved is it for that user to take that phone with them on the road - home or hotel and set it up. I have never done it but before I tell them it can be done fairly simply I need some more info

You would need a public IP on the BCM for hotel use but dont think that is wise unless some IT guy knows a safe way.
For home setup a VPN connection to the BCM utilizing the router too.

Best is to use VPN with softphone, else you have to put the BCM on the public/DMZ zone which might be not a good thing.

Thanks guys. Where can I get some info on the softphone? Nothing in depth yet; just a basic brief on how to set it up and how it is used.
