Trying to add 4 more IP phones to "BCM 50. Three existing. When doing the registration for the phone, it gives date/time F/W version, and then it says "configuring DHCP..." It has been sitting like this for over ten minutes. I plugged the phone into the network port, and when the Nortel Networks logo appears, I pressed the 4 soft keys in succession. Am I missing something? Thx.

Are the older phones manually configured? It sounds like the new phones can't find a dhcp server.

Check to see if the BCM50 is acting as a dhcp server. If it is enabled on the BCM50, the new phones should download firmware and register (or ask for a registration password).

If the BCM50 is not acting as a dhcp server, you may have to manually configure the phones settings.

Phones come out-of-the-box configured for Full DHCP. If you are doing something different (No or Partial), you will need to manually configure them.
