I am looking for a complete list of all the ports that the BCM 50 use's. Need to open up some for getting thru a firewall. Does anybody know if there is a list?

RTP over UDP (IP sets and trunks, plus 11 voice mail and contact center voice ports) uses ports 28000 to 28255, can be changed but not recommended.
UDP (T.38 Fax) uses ports 20000 to 20255, can be changed but not recommended.
Signaling (cannot be changed) uses 0 to 1023, 1718, 1719, 2216 to 2219, 5000, 7000, and 60000

Listed in the BCM under Resources->Port Ranges

Some other info that may be useful:

Port settings (firewall): In some installations, you may need to adjust the port settings before
the BCM can work with other devices.
Firewalls can interfere with communications between the BCM and another device. The port settings must be properly configured for VoIP communications to function properly. Using the instructions provided with your firewall, ensure that communications using the ports specified for VoIP are allowed.

A Nortel IP telephone uses ports between 51000 and 51200 to communicate with the system. The system, by default, uses ports 28000 to 28255 to transmit VoIP packets. BCM uses UDP port ranges to provide high priority to VoIP packets in existing legacy IP networks. You must reserve these same port ranges and set them to high priority on all routers that an administrator expects to have QoS support. You do not need to reserve port ranges on DiffServ networks. You can select any port ranges that are not used by well-known protocols or applications.

By default SIP uses port 5060.

For connecting to the BCM from externally,

Element Manager uses port 60001
BCM Monitor uses port 5989

Thanks for all the info, this really helped, I have found some of this info in the docs but was also looking for a complete list, do you know if that is in the docs?

I don't know where to even look in the docs for all that info. I only know the info I gave because I examined the PC on which I use the software.

If you are using IPSEC this could be helpful:

The Protocols for a standard IPSEC connection are:

Protocol 17(UDP) source and destination port 500
Protocol 50 (ESP)
and Protocol 51 (AH)

If you wish to use NAT traversal then Firewall ports will have to be opened for UDP for some above and some below the high port. For example if the Floating Source Point is set to 10000 then you might want to open up ports 9950 to 10050. This will allow numerous connections through the same source.

There is more info on this if you refer to
