I HAVE A BCM 50 WITH FAX MESSAGING AND FAX ON DEMAND. WHEN I TRY TO SEND A FAX FROM MY PC THOURGH CALLPILOT IT DOES NOT GO OUT. IN THE MANUAL THERE IS NO CLEAR SPEC ON HOW TO SET UP OUTGOING FAXES. DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO SETUP FOR OUT BOUND FAXES?

This is what I would check. Under the mailbox or mailboxes I would confirm that you have allowed the mailboxes access to the system lines to facilitate faxing.

On the call pilot under mailbox admin. If you select your mailbox or a mailbox check that you have set your outdial type to route.

Then try and send a fax. If you want to check it is sending or attempting to send if you start BCM monitor for the BCM 50. Under the line admin tab you should see one of your voice mail ports dialing out.

The other thing I would confirm is good for you is under fax properties. There is a few timers for how many times the fax tries to send and how long it waits before it tries to send again.

Hope this makes sense

I have done just as you recommend and still no out going fax. I may not be as clear on the information that is put into the out going fax. I pull up a word document and press print and choose the nortel fax printer, it attaches the file to the nortel fax driver and request fax number and subject, how I input at this time is confusing. I may not be putting the propper input. In the manual it says to go to CallPilot configuration to set up for faxing but before that go to the Unified Manager to set up the fax channels. Where do you set up the fax channels?

Also make sure the active application DN's have access to the proper line pools.

I was able to make it work today. Here is what I was missing. In the Resources section you need to change the Default set up to Custom 1 and allow for fax channels. Then change to Custom 1 as the current set up.

Once I made that change I was able to send faxes from the desk top computers. In the setup of each mail box we have it set to outdial to route. In the fax to number include the destination code.
