Can you use a regular Cat5E patch cable to run an expansion cabinet from main cabinet.
I do not have the original patch cord like you get when new. It seems to have a metal shield or something ???
I've used a variety of Ethernet cables on BCM 50 systems, but you need the specific cable when connecting up the expansion cabinet to a BCM 400 System.

I've used regular cat5 ethernet cables with no issues. It seems a cat5e would work even better. I only use when testing, so I don't know if any problems would show up in the long run if you didn't use the original Nortel cable.
