Can you use a regular Cat5E patch cable to run an expansion cabinet from main cabinet.
I do not have the original patch cord like you get when new. It seems to have a metal shield or something ???

I've used a variety of Ethernet cables on BCM 50 systems, but you need the specific cable when connecting up the expansion cabinet to a BCM 400 System.

If it's working, then leave it alone!.

I haven't ever received cables with the BCM50, I have always used a cat5e patch cord. But the 200/400 and 450's come with a specific cable.

If its not working, get a bigger hammer!
