BCM 50 Element manager issue. 1

I have been working on a BCM 50 through element manager with no problems. Today I am getting an error message that tells me that the bcm detector cannot determine switch type and will not let me continue.
Any suggestions?

I get this sometime also - rebooting the PC seems to clear it up for me.
