Hi,

I will try my best to explain our situation. We have CS1000 et BCM50 Software version 9.0.1.74.660.

When using BCM, someone dial voicemail and it ask for the password, the person dial his password but you can see the password in the display of the phone.
An other example, some guy call his credit card company and when they ask to enter his credit card, as he enter you can see the digit on the display of the phone. Is this normal because It is not very secure. Other person can see the display as you type

We also have CS1000 and on that system, we do not have the same issue. It work's great. When you call someone as soon as it answer and after you type any more digit, it will not appear on the screen of the phone.

So, does BCM have this feature and if yes how to enable it. As far concern about the software version, I think it is the recent one

I am sorry for my english

Thank you

From reading your query, it seems that the CS1000 has the voicemail system and that the BCM system is attached to it via a link and therefore and BCM extensions will use the voicemail on the CS100 rather than the BCM's own voicemail system?. This might be because you don't have any licences for mailbox's on the BCM system?.

If this is the case, then any CS1000 calls to voicemail should not show any numbers after the mailbox has logged in. If the call to Voicemail was made over a tie line from another system, then it might well display additional digits entered in on the keypad.

All the best

If it's working, then leave it alone!.

Sorry for misunderstanding ... we ho have licence to use voicemail on CS1K and BCM but we are not using it... we use an external voicemail service that is approved by Avaya(Nortel).

Anyway, the voice mail is one of my example to explain my problem :
I call any number that you have dial extension or a number after it answer. Like voicemail, credit card company or any other company with ivr menu : option like choose language, enter auth code or credit card number.

With CS1K : You only see the first number which is the company number or voice mail access number and the rest is not display on the phone (which works great)

With BCM : You see whole number as you type : company number and any other number that you dial after like to choose the language, choose an option or type the credit card number

I hope you understand my explanation. Feel free to ask if you need any more information.

Thank you again

To save you time you can't stop it from being seen on the dial pad. That is just the way it is on the BCM/Norstar. If you had the VM on the BCM you would not see the PSWD for VM though..
