Hi,

My BCM 50 rls 2 is is going from steady double amber to steady low red / high amber. It is not giving me the flashing option to do a reset 2. Can someone please help as it is down. Thanks in advance.

Looks as if the hard drive has failed.
Replace your system.

Hi Snowman,

this hard drive works well in another bcm 50 that's in my lab.

The other choice is a BASE unit fault.

But first try repacing the external power transformer which may not be sending out the correct voltage

After you got that HDD to work in another BCM50 did you reinstall it in the BCM50 in question and boot back up? The reason I am asking is there was an issue with the ribbon cable to the HDD coming loose.

Snowman is right then.

Is there a procedure to correct a base unit fault?

I do not think there is.
As you can see when you open it up its a complete circuit board.
Unfortunatly the MAC address( system id) is imbedded in this.
Changing the base unit will change the system id and you will have to get your keycodes transfered to the new system id.
