The system is an upgraded 6.0 with the latest patches. We have always seen high usage on the CPU but lately it has been tame. Most Sets are IP and there is 32 of those with i think 5 Digital sets. The system is using a PRI for lines and when I get the error eventually my Find Me/Follow Me stops working, and in the past so did the Conference Bridge. Both of these things are crucial to the client of course that's when a call comes to me, and that's when I have to reboot the system. After the reboot everything works fine for a while, but recently the reboots are only fixing the issue for a short period of time, before it was months now i am lucky if i get a week out of one. Anybody out there seen this issue and if so what was the fix?

Check the alarms to see whats there.

The latest System patch is now at 021. Have you got this one installed?. As stated above, always check what is in the history alarm file.

All the best

If it's working, then leave it alone!.

Logging system was temporarily overwhelmed. 141 messages dropped

Check to see if the system is operating normally. This may occur when performing a Backup, Restore or Software Patch/Upgrade. A reboot should restore the system to normal operation but is not required if the system is operating normally.

This is what appears in the alarm File over and over, the amount of dropped messages are always different but this is all I see. So I have checked the Alarms over and over again, they are telling me nothing. I have been doing this a long time and have never seen a system that has had this alarm more than 3 or 4 times straight. I rebooted it again last night and by this afternoon it flipped out again. This time the system even took the IP Phones out for a minute or two. The system then was fine after except FM/FM is not working again. Does anyone know what service FM/FM runs on maybe I can just restart that instead of a complete reboot.

The patch is now at 021 on the system and everything was great for about 2 weeks. Now the system is wigging out again with the same alarm and locking up the FM/FM, it has even reset the phones once or twice this week. We rebooted the system and got FM/FM back up and working just don't know where to go from here! I cant believe no one has seen this issue before, but i guess if its my first one it may be very rare. Any one know where to go next, I am at a loss.

Are you backing the system up to the local hard drive by any chance? It sounds like the drive is starting to die. I would get a backup to a USB stick or my PC right away if you don't have one. All the applications you're having trouble with reside on the hard drive.

telcodog no we are not backing up to the drive on the system, it does a backup to a folder on the network. I removed all of my usb drives from all of our clients systems for backups, just seemed to cause issues with all of them.

But with this system we have always had issues, seems like a reboot takes care of it for a week or two. I have replaced this system once already, complete using the backup. This was prompted by the same issue plus Meet Me Conferencing would flake out and a few other things. But first we thought it was the hard drive and replaced that which worked for about 2 months then the issue started again. The new system had been fine for about 8 to 10 months then the issue started again. As you can see i am hesitant to just swap out the drive again and i do not want to replace the system again.

Here we go again just got the call as i am typing FM/FM is down again and while we started looking into it we were told Meet me Conf is not working as well, is there a service that runs these options seems to me the reboot restarts these services and then all is well for awhile? any other ideas would be great.

Thanks

yes, the FM/FM is not even attempted and my CPU load is usually full when a conference is going on but thats usually all 16 meet me conf are being used. I have seen the cpu up in my opinion high for most of 15 minute spans that i have watched it. but usually its between 20 and 40 percent.

New information on this, i ran a backup and once it was done i just happened to be watching BCM Monitor and saw a call come in and out via FM/FM! Seems not only does a reboot restart the service but a backup does as well. Well i guess it never hurts to do a backup right! I would love to know why this is happening though.

Think we found the issue some users were not deleting their voicemails and they had a ton of them, a few users were in the 300 to 400 range. Made them delete messages manually and have not had an issue in a few days.
