I am using a BCM50 at revision 6, With both VoIP and SIP License installed.

I have now spent several weeks trying to get a BCM50 to connect to an SIP Provider.
When i look, in resources\iptrunks\SIP Trunking\accounts
i see it try to register but it come back saying "Unauthorized"
although i know i have used all the correct details.
I spoke to the SIP provider, and was told that this was correct, BUT the BCM50 should then re reqest, when it will then register.

Please help, this is doing my head in!!!!

One of my colleagues had spent time getting SIP to work on a CS1K. I think the providor was "Gamma"?. I'll ask him what the main problems were as there were many issues.

All the best

If it's working, then leave it alone!.

Hi there,

Make sure the service provider offers NAT traversal....my first provider didn't and SIP trunking wouldn't work with my BCM50.

You may be in for a world of hurt here, if the SIP provider isn't BT in the UK. BCM has been verified against certain SIP providers across the world, such as AT&T & others in North America & BT in the UK. I know BT started offering "BT IP" trunk service February 2010 (I attended tech transfer with one of the BT technicians (D.R for my reference)) soon before we being made redundant. There are plenty of solution design rules that BT require, such as:

3rd Party Broadband DSL routers are Not supported
BCM Remote Worker solutions are Not supported via the SIP-T broadband connection
SIP-Trunks for break-in and breakout to private networks (H323, SIP, DPNSS, Q’Sig) is Not supported
Call Forwarding of the Originators CLID via SIP-T is Not supported

To name some.

Theoretically other SIP providers will work, however you'd need to base it on the correct 'template' and as your SIP provider has demonstrated already, how much support will you get off them?

I have a slide pack from BT, from the original tech transfer, however cannot make available, as it may be confidential.
