BCM 50 Ananlog line problem

Hi,

I have a customer with a BCM50e with 6 t7316Es and 4 POTs lines. Line 4 is split with a outgoing only fax machine. The problem is line 4 gets stuck. If you try to call it does not ring and does not light up a triangle on the phone at on. So just ring no answer. If I reset the module it clears the problem for about 2-4 hours than happerns again. Also I can pick up line 4 and dial out no problem. It is just the ringing in.

Can you add an ATA interface for the FAX to have security on that line and get the LED lighting. If the FAX is ahead of the BCM50 the voltage drop may be bleeding the line down.

I dont know if the fax is before the bcm. I did take the fax completly of for a day of business and same problem happened.

Looks like it's time to open a ticket!

We are experiencing the same exact problem with our analog line 4 on our BCMs at multiple site locations. The temporary fix has been to reboot the BCM through Element Manager. The only commonality to each location’s physical setup, is that we had a single line analog phone connected off of our Line 4 at the DMARC with the ringer switched off. We recently removed the analog phone and this has not solved the problem. We have mixed versions of 'j' and 'g' in our environment. The problem occurs on both versions. We have patched our 'g' versions.

Is anyone else having this problem?

Hmmm...I also see they re-released the BCM50.039 patch? I am confused as I saw this one put out TODAY, however, looks like same one with same read-me PDF and same file content as one that I download last fall.
Anyone familiar with this?
 
So has the new patch fixed the problem. I am going to open a ticket with nortel tommorow. But I am going to the customers site tommorow to install the new patch. Just wandering if anybody has had the problem fixed by the patch.

I have now installed all three of the patches (081, 083, & 039) on all 7 of my BCM50s. I have been verifying that line 4 on all of them is ringing correctly every day. This is definitely the longest I have gone without having the problem.
