I think you still need the password to log in via putty to do a level1 or level 2 reset on the bcm rel5 , rel 6 versions.

The restset button only works on release 1,2,3 systems.

I guess re-image the drive is your best bet.

Yes, re-imaging or installing a R6 factory drive are the only options.
