Have been subcontracted to install a new in box BCM 50. Does a new BCM 50 6.0 come with any ports active? It appears to me that any port has to be licensed to work. Is that correct?

yes thats correct. 12 digital stations, 4 analog trunks, 4 analog stations, 2 expansion ports, 12 ip trunks and 35 (i think) ip sets, all activated by licenses.

The BCM 50 is like a big house with many rooms, the house comes fully locked you have to buy key codes to have access to these features to active them.

Some are sold pre-package the 4x8x2x2 IP + VM 8 is a popular bundle.

4 analog trunks
8 digital sets
2 analog stations
2 IP Telephone
8 voice mail boxes.

Thanks guys. I was sent a 6 digital user keycode that turned on 6 ports in the main cabinet. I was also sent an expansion license and a 16 dsm, that activated all 16 digital ports on he expansion for a total of 22 digital ports, I'm good, thanks for the responses.
