Hi

Questions is in regards to having 4 active phone lines on a Bcm 50, 4th line set up as pool B, for dedicated fax....All is working good, except when the 3 phone lines are busy the next incoming call rolls over to fax line, and fax kicks in...Any suggestions on how we can still save the 4th line for outgoing calls, and maybe have the call after the 3 prime line busy go to voicemail instead of Fax?....thx

Is the 4th line the same number as the first 3 lines or is it a different number..i know from other post in USA you use DIDs on the same line i think.

You could try and set up an AA to answer the 4th line only.
Then set up a fax extn port with in it to the fax machine.
You should in configuration a setting for FAX EXTN in the MENU list

This way the AA will detect fax tone and send it to the machine.
If the call is not a fax then the AA will send it to the Attendant Extn.

All the lines are seprate numbers (no DID), and AA is on.

The 4th line set up for the Fax, is assigned to pool B, so if Fax number is dialed it goes staright to Fax

They do no recive that many faxes, so they are trying to use the 4th line for making calls

If all 3 main lines are inuse, the next call rolls over to fax

We need AA for the main lines, if we have all 3 lines busy then is it possible for call to go to AA, will be better experince for customer then Fax tone, lol..

Thx

Contact your local telephone company and have the fourth line removed from the trunk hunting group. Then once the first 3 lines are busy the fourth call to the main number will ring busy.

Sorry for the delay in answering your query.
Here goes

Basic Fax Capability – Fax Answering
You can have one fax machine attached to a BCM extension via an ATA2, a(G)ASM Media Bay Module, or via the BCM50 onboard GASI ports.
The line must be answered by the AA or CCR, which will route the call to the fax machine. This facility is standard with the voice messaging keycode that comes with every system.

Fax Answering.
Fax Answering allows fax calls to the Auto-Attendant to be connected to a specified fax extension.
Attach the Fax to an extension using one of the following methods:
? Via an ATA2
? Via an ASM port
? Via a BCM50 onboard GASI port
1. Check that the line(s) the customer expects faxes to come in on are answered by either the Auto Attendant or a CCR Tree. Line details can be found under Lines Administration in the Auto-Attendant menu options.
2. Access CallPilot Manager.
3. Select Configuration then Fax Properties.
4. The Fax Properties screen will be displayed.
Enter the extension number for the Fax machine and click the Submit button.

Thats it.

Good luck
