I have a customer with a 2050 softphone R2 on a BCM 50. They say 3/4 of their calls have static and beeping. This is the only IP phone on their network. THis happens remotely as well on the local network. The error i am getting on the BCM are:
Listening R Violation cleared
PAcket loss violation cleared
Packet Loss Violation unacceptable
I am using codec 729 with the jitter and payload as default.
Any Ideas

Is the ip phone in a separate vlan? Voice should have priority over data.

Not it currently is not. It shouldn't be a big deal as there is not much traffic and there is only one phone.

Yes it is. I know its a pretty general question and hard to answer. It is a BCM 50 2.0

Packet loss means their network is congestioned.
Have use try different codecs and jitter buffers?
Have you experienced the problems onsite?

It has been tested offsite as well as remotely. I am using 729 codec so I doubt using 711 will make it better. Maybe a jitter adjustment. Should i go up or down with the jitter buffer
