A BCM 400 is a a hardware upgrade to 450 release 'x'. The software upgrade is only good to upgrade 450r1 to 450r5 or 450r6. There's no method of upgrading a 4.0 bcm400/200, other than collect the data using the DMM tool, upgrade the hardware (new base function tray, new fan, new chassis interface card, new SATA hard disk). Once hardware upgraded, then you'd use DMM to repopulate the configuration and mailbox data etc on the BCM.
Plus of course you need an auth code to regenerate the 4.0 keycode against 450 release 'x'.
I'm fully aware of what to do and how to do it. I only wanted to know if anyone knew where the upgrade files could be downloaded from.
To the others, agreed. R5 upgrades will be available for a a couple of weeks yet. I believe you can still order one release back for at least 60 days (maybe 90) after the new release is made available.
Funny thing was, I could still find R3 upgrade files on their site but couldn't find SFA on Avaya (yes, I do have an SSO login). I used to think Nortel had the worst website on the planet.......until I got into Avaya's. What a mess!
BTW, I didn't need the disks last night anyway. I just wanted them just in case. Not much help around at 3:00 AM.
