Has anyone noticed that when you try to un-tar the logs on a BCM at release 5 it asks for a password?

Does anyone know what the password is to view the log files?

I tried the the system password and PlsChgMe! without any luck.

Thanks for the help!

Never got the password, but I'd really love to have it. I'm trying to troubleshoot a message forwarding issue and I'd like to look at the smtp.log file.

Does anyone know what the password is???

I've looked at the latest release 6 troubleshooting pdf file and it's not there either!. If the log file isn't small, then can you send it to me please?.

Thanks for the info, but unfortunately that didn't help.

Just a silly question to ask as I've never downloaded any release 5 logs, but have you tried within BCM Element Manager clicking on e.g. "File", then "View Network Element Logs", then the important bit of clicking on the dropdown box of "Files of type:" to select "Network Element Log archives *.tar" etc?.

Also, are you using the latest Element Manager version as I've just updated mine to V61.0.1.

Not a silly question at all, but yes, I have tried to use the log viewer and I do have the latest version of EM.
